Ridley & Tony Scott To Produce Le Mans Period Drama: The Drivers

Directors Ridley and Tony Scott are set to produce a TV drama series set in the world of sports-car racing of the 1950s and ’60s.

FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) is working with Ridley and Tony Scott and their production company, Scott Free Inc. along with Headline Pictures and Sennet Entertainment on the production of The Drivers, a series based on the legendary 24-hour motor race in Le Mans set in the 1950s-1960s.  Ridley and Tony Scott are co-producing the drama series with Headline Pictures and Sennet Entertainment while FME is funding the project based on the book, Shelby: The Man, The Cars, The Legend by Wallace A. Wyss and optioned from Iconografix.  The true story depicts the young drivers from the US, Germany, France, Italy and the UK, all friends and rivals as they compete and risk everything to win the iconic race.
