Porsche has teamed up with Tangent Vector once again to create a fantastic video of the new 991 Series 911 testing in South Africa. The photos of the South Africa test surfaced on the internet in the last few weeks, and now the video has been posted.
Through the testing photos and this video, Porsche has managed to provide a lot of details about the upcoming 991 Series without saying very much. The mechanical details of the new series have not been released, but internet sources say Porsche will be downsizing the engine from the 3.6L flat-six to a 3.4L direct-injected flat-six engine that delivers a total of 350 HP at 6400 rpm and max torque of 280 lb-ft between 4400 and 6000 rpm. The Carrera S, on the other hand, will get a 3.8-liter flat-six with direct injection engine that delivers a total of 400 HP at 7000 rpm, leaving it with a 4.5 seconds 0-60mph sprint time and a top speed of 188mph.
The most telling shots we’ve noticed reveal an obviously lengthened wheelbase, a new Targa variant along with a completely revised engine compartment, deck lid and wing. The interior shots show a Panamera-inspired center console. The new 991 Series set to be released for 2012.
