Continental Tire and GRAND-AM Road Racing are proud to announce Charlotte, N.C., resident Henry Biedrzycki as the winner of the 2011 Continental Tire Dream Giveaway. On Nov. 1, the 57 year-old Biedrzycki will be handed the keys to a spectacular pair of matching Porsche vehiclesat the Continental Tire booth (#43245) at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. He will take home both the 2011 Hurley Haywood Edition Porsche 911 GT3 (a Serial #1 of 1), and a 2011 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid, an award-winning luxury SUV. Joining Biedrzycki at the award ceremony will be his wife and three sons.
Biedrzycki, who works in the banking industry, entered the 2011 Continental Tire Dream Giveaway on two separate occasions, each time making a $100 tax-deductible donation. The second time proved to be the charm for Biedrzycki, who was in total disbelief when he heard the news.
“This is the most exciting day of my life,” Biedrzycki, who describes himself as a huge Porsche enthusiast, exclaimed. “When I bought the tickets, I obviously loved the Porsche vehicles, but I also saw this was helping benefit Camp Boggy Creek and I thought, what a great organization. I will definitely continue to support Camp Boggy Creek in the future.”
“On behalf of Continental Tire, we are thrilled to present Mr. Biedrzycki with the keys to not one, but two brand-new Porsche vehicles,” said Travis Roffler, director of marketing, Continental Tire. “The Continental Tire Dream Giveaway was a great promotion for us. Anytime we can enhance a promotion with philanthropic efforts, it’s a win for everyone. I’m proud that Continental Tire was able to help raise monies for two great organizations, such as the WorldCause Foundation and Camp Boggy Creek.”
Biedrzycki has owned several Porsche vehicles throughout his life and spoke enthusiastically of his personal experience with Continental Tire stating, “I have had a lot of Continental tires on my cars over the years, and I am pretty sure that is all I am going to buy from here on out.”
The promotion garnered more than $200,000 in net proceeds, which will be presented to two beneficiaries, WorldCause Foundation and Camp Boggy Creek, at the SEMA show award ceremony. WorldCause Foundation is a humanitarian organization and Camp Boggy Creek is a year-round medical camp for children, and is a member of the Association of Hole In The Wall Camps, co-founded by actor/philanthropist Paul Newman and General H. Norman Schwartzkoph. Camp Boggy Creek is also the charity of choice for GRAND-AM Road Racing.
More than 54,000 individuals entered the giveaway to help two worthy charities and to have the chance to win the incredible grand prize package. The package includes paying the winner’s IRS withholding requirement and a personal driving lesson with Hurley Haywood, Motorsports Hall of Famer and the most-winning driver in the history of the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona.
The Continental Tire Dream Giveaway is just one aspect of the exciting partnership between GRAND-AM and Continental Tire. Continental Tire is the official tire and exclusive supplier of all tires at the Rolex Sports Car Series and the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series. The 2011 Continental Tire Dream Giveaway was made possible through the generous support of Continental Tire and GRAND-AM Road Racing.
